Acts you won’t want to miss at Kitsch in the Swich

The clock will be wound back and all things retro celebrated when Kitsch in the Swich is held in the heart of Ipswich on Saturday, 8 September.

The annual retro and rockabilly fashion fiesta brings together vintage fashion and market stalls, food trucks, classic cars and retro music in Ipswich mall on Brisbane Street.

Hollywood Glamour is this year’s theme for the event, which goes from noon to 6pm.

Here is a sneak peek of what you can expect from four entertainers headed to Kitsch in the Swich:

The ArgonauTs

These three Argo-Naughty boys are sure to please with a crazy combination of rockabilly, jump blues, western swing and rock ‘n’ roll. The band has performed for several years at many venues across south east Queensland and gained a reputation as a professional combo – Jason (Bubba) is on double bass/vocals, Tim (Slim Tim) is on guitar/vocals and Geoff (Geoffrey the Wonder Lizard) is on drums/vocals.

West Texas Crude

Formed in 2000, West Texas Crude have been walking the boards all over Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales having a blast and playing to audiences in country pubs up to some of the largest festivals around. They will bring their unique blend of rockabilly, blues, rock, country, funk, swamp and metal to Ipswich for Kitsch in the Swich.

The Wet Fish

Don’t let the name fool you, The Wet Fish are an instrumental live machine, delivering good times for all with a versatile and contagious mix of classic surf, spy, soul and high-energy rock ‘n’ roll. Kitsch in the Swich fans can expect a rousing blend of originals and a unique twist on crowd-pleasing gems that are guaranteed to get the party started when The Wet Fish come to Ipswich.

Swing-a-Billy Ray

A legend who works the room and leaves no-one sitting down, DJ Swing-a-Billy Ray has been DJing events large and small for 20 years. Expect to hear the best of the 1920s through to the 90s with a vintage and retro twist. He is sure to have you smiling and dancing the day away.
