Display of donated d’Arcy Doyle paintings (May to June)
A pair of d’Arcy Doyle paintings have been added to the Ipswich City Art Collection after being donated by Peter and Jim McMahon. The Ipswich Free Handicap Cup will be displayed to coincide with the annual Ipswich Cup. The cup was awarded to the winner of the fifth race in the Ipswich Christmas Races held on 26 and 27 December, 1866. The race was open to all horses and run over a distance of two miles. The winner of the event was Jibboom.
