Have your say and help shape the future of aquatic facilities in Ipswich

Want to have your say about aquatic facilities in Ipswich? Now is your chance, with a community survey open now.

The aim of the Aquatic Facilities survey is to gather important information, which will in turn help council to keep residents active, enjoying local water activities and facilities, as well as to meet community aspirations for the future.

The information obtained from the survey will help with the development of an action plan and will also be used to benchmark council’s progress on improving aqua facilities in our region.

The survey aims to help council understand how it can make these recreational activities more attractive, convenient and enjoyable for Ipswich residents and visitors.

The survey is also seeking feedback from community about how and why the community uses swimming pools, lagoons and water playgrounds within Ipswich, which will help council gain information about community expectations on new and existing aquatic facilities.

Councillor Andrew Fechner said he would like to encourage the community to get involved.

“This survey is a great opportunity for the community to tell us what aquatic infrastructure they would like to see in their area,” Cr Fechner said.

“I have fond memories of going to the Bundamba pool when I was younger, so I am excited to see what the community comes up with and what facilities council will deliver in the future.”

The Aquatic Facilities Action Plan online survey is open at Shape Your Ipswich from now until 5 April 2021.
