How to make your garage sale a success

Ipswich residents are gearing up for the nation’s biggest weekend of garage sales, with 59 households already registered for the Garage Sale Trail on 21 and 22 November.

And now it’s even easier for residents to make serious money from their garage sales, with Ipswich City Council teaming up with the Garage Sale Trail team to provide a series of free online masterclasses.

Environment and Sustainability Committee chairperson Councillor Russell Milligan said the Trail Tutorials focus on helping residents reduce the impact of textile waste.

“These Trail Tutorials will help residents learn how to style, mend and shop secondhand, with some great tips from the experts,” Cr Milligan said.

“With more than 89 per cent of Ipswich garage sales currently registered on the trail selling some clothing or accessories, these online masterclasses are sure to give their garage sales a boost.

“Reducing the number of new clothing purchases we make and choosing secondhand are just two great ways we can all do our bit and save money, and this year’s Garage Sale Trail in November is great opportunity for Ipswich residents to give it a go.”

The Trail Tutorials are free to join and open to everyone. Places are limited, make sure you book early to avoid disappointment. Register via the links below.
