Ipswich libraries shine in community survey

Ipswich libraries have once again received outstanding feedback from the community in council’s annual libraries survey with an overall satisfaction rating of 88 per cent.

Ipswich City Council Community and Sport Committee Chairperson Councillor Jacob Madsen said the survey results were extremely encouraging.

“A total of 1,101 people took the survey, and of that 92 per cent were satisfied with library staff service, while 82 per cent were satisfied with online services,” Cr Madsen said.

“To achieve an overall satisfaction rating of 88 per cent reflects the dedication and professionalism of the officers who are involved with our libraries.

“Council library officers often go above and beyond for the community, ensuring our customers have the best experience at our libraries whilst fostering meaningful connections with returning visitors.

“The annual survey provides an important pulse check and is a way for our community to share their thoughts. The results demonstrate the service, amenities and collections at our libraries are of a very high standard.

“Surveys like this are an important tool that help council identify what is working but also the changing needs of our community and opportunities for service improvement.

“Council continually refines its services to meet community needs.

“That is why the Redbank Plaza Library is set to receive an upgrade which will increase its operating space by 80 square metres, helping introduce additional services including Marketplace Collection, Smart Lockers and more study areas.”
