Ipswich students gain insights into careers

Careers were high on the agenda for secondary school students during their visit to the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) Ipswich on Thursday (June 27).

The Year 9-10 Careers Day offered students an opportunity to learn about different career paths and study options.

Careers on display included aviation, business, creative arts, education, engineering, health, law and sciences.

Representatives from TAFE Queensland and the Australian Defence Force were also present.

In addition to gaining hands-on experience, students had the chance to speak with USQ academics and hear from current students about their post-school experiences.

Schools involved included Brisbane State High School, Bremer State High School, Faith Lutheran College, Peace Lutheran College, St Mary’s College Ipswich and Staines Memorial College.
