Local events get boost from council funding

FOUR organisations have received event support and sponsorship from Ipswich City Council.

Economic Development and Digital City Committee chairman Cr Paul Tully said event organisations which qualified could apply for grants through council’s dedicated event sponsorship program.

“All events receiving council sponsorship must maximise associated economic and social benefits to the city,” Cr Tully said.

“This month council is pleased to support Ipswich Hospice, Ipswich Hospital Foundation, Queensland Outdoor Recreation Federation Incorporated and RBL International.”

Sponsorship details:

  • Ipswich Hospice Care: $2,000 sponsorship of the Jacaranda fundraising dinner
  • Ipswich Hospital Foundation: $2,500 sponsorship of 2018 Ride On celebration of Cycling Week
  • Queensland Outdoor Recreation Federation Incorporated: $4,000 sponsorship of Mud World
  • RBL International: $4,000 sponsorship for the Effervesce Champagne Festival

Cr Tully said events large and small all contributed to the economic well-being of the community.

“They also attract visitors to Ipswich and help to promote our city in a positive light.”
