IPSWICH residents will have the chance to join a master storyteller in conversation when internationally acclaimed author Fiona McIntosh comes to Springfield Central Library on Tuesday, 13 November.
Ms McIntosh will discuss her latest novel, The Pearl Thief, which explores whether love and hope can ever overpower atrocity in a time of war and hate.
It is set in the snowy woodlands outside Prague, the Tuileries of Paris and on the heather-covered moors of Yorkshire.
Prior to becoming a full-time author, Ms McIntosh co-founded an award-winning travel magazine with her husband, which the couple ran for 15 years while raising their twin sons.
She now roams the world researching and drawing inspiration for her novels, runs a series of highly respected fiction masterclasses and calls South Australia home.
Ms McIntosh has published more than 40 novels including The Chocolate Tin, The Lavender Keeper, The Tea Gardens and Beautiful Death.
Author Hour with Fiona McIntosh will go from 6pm to 7pm.
Ipswich Libraries Business Services Manager Sylvia Swalling said it is exciting to have Ms McIntosh visit Ipswich.
“She has led a fascinating life, much of it travelling the world,” Ms Swalling said.
