New playground at Spring Mountain sure to enchant

Ipswich’s newest park has opened at Spring Mountain and it promises to enchant all who visit.

Enchanted Woods Park is on the corner of Grande Avenue and Angelica Avenue across from Springfield Central State School and Good Shepherd Primary School.

Developer Lendlease built the $650,000 park as part of its Springfield Rise estate at Spring Mountain.

The park combines the idea of an outdoor classroom with imaginative play, using a fantasy inspired theme.

It has a sword in the stone, story telling chair, totter bridge, scramble net and dry creek bed.

There is also a concrete castle play structure, shade sails, viking swing and picnic area with shelter.

Division 9 Councillor Sheila Ireland said it was perfect for families.

“Facilities like this are part of the reason why more and more parents are choosing Ipswich as the place to raise their children,” she said.

“Ipswich is known for having wonderful parks and this is yet another excellent addition.

“The park’s theme is very engaging and will be a big hit with local children who can spend hours having fun in the fantasy setting.”

Springfield Rise at Spring Mountain is one of the fastest growing housing estates in Ipswich and recently notched up its 1,600th lot sale after launching in 2016.

It will eventually deliver about 4,000 homes on a 415 hectare site.
