Rate relief extended for flood-affected Ipswich ratepayers

Council has extended its relief measures for ratepayers still experiencing the ongoing effects of flooding from earlier in the year.

Nearly 800 properties were identified as impacted by the 2022 floods.

This latest round is a $250 rates concession for the October to December 2022 rating period and will be provided to residential owner-occupied ratepayers where the relevant flood impacted dwelling continues to be uninhabitable.

Governance and Transparency Committee Chairperson Deputy Mayor Councillor Jacob Madsen said council recognised many families were still doing it tough.

“Council continues to support residents trying to get back on their feet. I encourage anyone who is eligible to apply for these concessions,” Cr Madsen said.

“There might still be residents out there who have not applied so please check with council.”

Ratepayers who have not received their previous concessions, who are seeking to confirm their eligibility for this current concession, or who are seeking to access payment arrangements are asked to contact council on (07) 3810 6666 to make an application.
