Santa hits the suburbs of Ipswich

Get ready Ipswich – Santa and his merry helpers are headed for the suburbs.

It is part of Ipswich City Council’s Christmas in Ipswich 2020 program which is spreading cheer across the region this festive season.

Santa and his helpers will board a blue double decker bus and cruise Christmas lights displays while also making some surprise stops along the way.

Residents cannot ride the Santa on Tour bus, but Santa’s helpers will hop off at various locations to say hello and make surprise performances.

Santa on Tour is cruising the suburbs between 5pm and 9pm over two weekends, passing through the following suburbs:

  • 4-6 December: Ipswich Central, Raceview, Silkstone, Booval, Bundamba, Blackstone, Redbank Plains, Collingwood Park, Brookwater, Augustine Heights, Springfield Central, Springfield Lakes, Flinders View, Yamanto and Ripley.

  • 11-13 December: Ipswich Central, North Ipswich, Brassall, Coalfalls, Sadliers Crossing, Leichardt, Walloon, Rosewood, Tivoli, Karalee, East Ipswich, Booval and Newtown.

To keep up to-date with Santa on Tour announcements, follow the Ipswich Festivals Facebook page.

Remember to ensure you and your family remain safely on the footpath when the bus is about, and allow room for its special guests to safely disembark.

Santa on Tour is presented by Ipswich City Council and proudly supported by radio station River 94.9.

Christmas in Ipswich 2020 is a program of festive community events.

Highlights include Christmas Wonderland presented by Slater and Gordon in Nerima Gardens, the City of Ipswich Christmas Lights Competition presented by IGA and New Year’s Eve community celebrations.
