Second stage of new estate at Brookwater gets go ahead

The second stage of a new housing estate in one of Ipswich’s most highly regarded suburbs has been given the go ahead.

Ipswich City Council has approved 25 new residential blocks for stage two of Bookwater’s Dress Circle Estate.

It is on 37 hectares of land off Brookwater Drive near the front nine holes of the Greg Norman designed Brookwater Golf Course.

In June 2017, council approved 31 residential lots for stage one.

Both stages of the development will be accessed from an extension of Brookwater Drive into the new estate.

Residential blocks in stage two will range in size from 500 to 935 square metres with an average lot size of 683 square metres.

Ipswich City Council planning, development and heritage spokesman Cr David Morrison said Brookwater continued to be popular.

“This development is in line with the Springfield Structure Plan which identifies this site for residential uses,” he said.

“I’m confident it will add to the mix of housing on offer across the city.

“Ipswich continues to be a popular choice for families and why wouldn’t it be, we have some of the best housing options in Queensland, great sport and recreation opportunities and a strong sense of community.”
