Spring into school holidays with these videos

With school holidays starting this week Ipswich First decided to visit Ipswich Grammar School to get the thoughts of six to eight year olds on what they like about Ipswich
All mums and dads looking for free or low cost entertainment for young children during the school holidays should keep reading.

Ipswich has a host of attractions to help keep the kids amused and entertained. 

Here’s short list to get you started.

Ipswich Art Gallery

• Make a Shadow Puppet – on now until 11 October
• Slapdash Galaxy – a bunk puppets show for all the family from 22 September until 7 October
• Australian Robowars Antweight Nationals – Queen’s Birthday holiday only Monday 1 October

Ipswich Nature Centre

A firm favourite with families is Ipswich’s free zoo. Ipswich Nature Centre is located in Queens Park and offers kids the chance to get up close and personal with Australian native wildlife.

Don’t forget to check out new dingo pups Lola and Moose. Look for them in the dingo enclosure between 10am and noon during these school holidays.

Ipswich Libraries – Ipswich Central and Springfield Central

Ipswich City Council’s newest library is now open seven days a week at Springfield Central.

It features a unique bookshop styled Marketplace, all ages can get inspired in the Makerspace showcasing cutting edge digital experiences, and families can relax and play in the amazing new dedicated children’s space.
