FUSED is a weekend full of amazing things to do in our talent filled town, from visual arts to theatre to music and more.
The three-day program on 7, 8, 9 September, 2018, will showcase an abundance of artists including musicians, Ipswich theatre companies, local crafters and visual artists from across Ipswich.
Compass Tattoo owners Angela Nayler and Shannon ‘Nailz’ Nayler (pictured) are looking forward to showing their talents.
“What I love about the FUSED festival is its inclusiveness. Arttime are including us in the street art and skateboard comp so everyone can benefit from the publicity, exposure and vibe of the weekend,” Mrs Naylor said
“Our artists are entering Decked Out, which is a competition where you illustrate a skateboard deck. Our store will also be open and we will be assisting Micky Hora in the street artwork, which will be Ipswich Inspired.
“It will take the whole weekend to complete and it will be on the brick wall in the alleyway between Upcycled Treasure and Rhythm N Fades Barber Shop.”
Arts and Community Development Committee Chairperson Cr Kylie Stoneman said FUSED provides an opportunity for local artists to elevate their art, gain exposure and recognition, and connect with a wider audience. Ipswich City Council will provide $15,000 funding for the FUSED Festival.
“The FUSED Festival, which is coordinated by a passionate and dedicated community-based arts committee, was established in 2017 to deliver an annual festival that celebrates the Ipswich arts community,” she said.
“There is a commitment to again deliver a collaborative program of arts events and activities involving local Ipswich arts groups.
The FUSED committee has sought partnership funding from council to support the delivery of the festival.
“This is a fantastic event for the City of Ipswich and brings together our high-quality arts community and a large number of visitors attending the FUSED festival,” she said.
