The wait is over, with the free Christmas Wonderland in Ipswich to light up the city from tonight at Nerima Gardens in Queens Park.
Opening night entertainment begins at 6.30pm when magician SuperSteph and puppet Frosty the Snowman take to the stage.
Santa will visit at 6.30pm before the enchanting light display sparkles from 7pm.
Christmas Wonderland in Ipswich is on nightly from 13 December to 24 December, giving families plenty of opportunity to share in the festive spirit.
About 20,000 lights have been installed in the Japanese-themed Nerima Gardens.
The park’s lake and waterfall have also come alive with colour, and a 3.5m warm white Christmas tree and four large baubles will impress.
All is set as well for this year’s Santa Procession on Friday, 14 December which will see Santa and his colourful cast of helpers parade through the park.
Santa will arrive on his special train from the North Pole accompanied by elves, stilt walkers, puppets and other characters.
The Santa Procession will start at 6.45pm near the Ipswich Bowling Club and travel past Queens Park Cafe along Merle Finimore Avenue before continuing to Nerima Gardens where Santa will open the gates to Christmas Wonderland at 7pm.
Christmas Wonderland is part of an expanded line-up of festive season celebrations across Ipswich.
