2. Walloon state school market night

Celebrating 140 years, There will be a anniversary clelbration on the lawn in front of the Administration Building at 3pm. Markets, history and school work, refreshments and more.

3. Ipswich's biggest Halloween Street Party

Come and eat your heart out. There will be food fair trucks offering flavours from around the world in the heart of town. Either book a dining experience with one of our delightful restaurants or dine in the street. Enter the “Super Freaks” parade to win super prizes by registering under the sails in d’Arcy Doyle Place at 6.30pm. Meet freaky roving characters, join games for kids, jumping castles, hell-fire displays and dance to live entertainment.

4. Wally and the Gators at CSI

Enjoy tunes of yesteryear with Wally and the Gators at CSI. A four piece rock ‘n’ roll band, they play a wide variety, from 50s rock ‘n’ roll country rock to 60s and 70s classics, and more!

5. Rugby: Queensland Country vs Perth Spirit

Top-level rugby comes to Ipswich Reserve this weekend. It’s the last round of the season and finals positions are well and truly up for grabs when Queensland Country takes on Perth Spirit. Entry is free and organisers are hoping for a crowd in the thousands to see elite players in action.

6. Sunday afternoon tennis for over 35s

Come along and enjoy a friendly social tennis gathering for those aged 35 or older. Get out and about, get friendly, get fit. Phone: 0418 651 666.

7. Orion Zombie Walk

Pull out your best spooky costume and walk the centre in search of your favourite treats of the sweet kind. There will also be an array of spooktacular entertainment in Town Square throughout the afternoon.

WHERE: Orion Springfield Central, 1 Main Street

COST: Tickets are $5 each. All proceeds will be donated to our partner charity Headspace Ipswich.

 

8. Sweat Session Saturdays

Start your weekend out on a high with a sweat session. Enjoy top level training, a fun community and the highest of technical guidance and support from head coach and founder Nick Lachat. Having previously trained soldiers on the front line and newbies who are total beginners, coach Nick will have you feeling strong and consistent. Meet on the stairs connected with the Orion bridge and Robelle main circle (near the stage) at 6.25 am sharp.

9. Pasta workshop

Jamie’s Ministry of Food Ipswich hosts a pasta workshop. Become a pasta master by learning to make traditional pasta dough, filled pasta and much more during a hands on pasta workshop. This one-off workshop provides participants with a fun, hands-on cooking class that teaches the simple, easy skill of cooking pasta from scratch.

10. Date with Grandma or Granddad

Celebrate Grandparents Day 2017 with BOOK FACE at Orion. Children are invited to bring their grandparents to the store to work on an art project and take part in games their grandparents will remember with children’s author Andrea Gallagher. Andrea, the author of two children’s alphabet picture books, will host a story-time and craft where children will create a grandparent-themed bookmark.

11. Power of Peace Festival

Celebrate peace, non-violence and harmony at the Power of Peace Festival: Celebrating Global Mahatma Gandhi. Festivities at Ipswich throughout the morning will include: Inauguration of the festival at the Mahatma Gandhi Inspiration Bridge in Springfield Central, a Peace Parade, performances by the Ipswich City Orchestra, re-enactment of Gandhi Salt March and Power of Peace Train Ride to Brisbane.
