The IHS Spinners and Weavers are holding an exhibition called The Connecting Threads at the Community Art Gallery in Ipswich.

“A common thread runs through the fibre arts.
There are connections in how spinning is achieved by fibres twisting together to make a yarn to
weave the warp and the weft, connections to nature as we collect nature’s offerings for dyeing and connections with each other as we weave community.
It connects us back though time to ancient peoples and every culture on this small planet, to each other, and our embodied yearning to create.
This exhibition draws on these threads that connect.” 

It will be opened by Janet Findley, also a local dramatic artist on 25th April at 3pm- 6pm

The exhibition then continues until the 6th May. Opening hours are from 10am –3pm.

The program is varied and they invite local crafts men and women to join them for a craft day on 27th April. Bring your own UFO (unfinished object) to network with other artists and crafter’s in the Ipswich area.

All welcome. No charge, just a donation to cover a cuppa, raffles will also be available, the proceeds of which will support Ipswich Hospice.
