Outtawak

Wickety Wak members Rob Rosenlund & Tony Jeffrey have teamed up with the hilarious Dave Mitchell to perform as Outtawak. Their show includes send up’s and songs of artists like Tom Jones, Kermit the Frog, Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, The Platters, John Denver, and many more.

With their funny antics on stage, you’re sure to have a laugh and enjoy Queensland’s premier variety show.

Give a self-driving shuttle a try

The future is here. Head to Orion Lagoon and hop on an electric self-driving shuttle. It will travel along John Nugent Way. The self-driving shuttle demonstration is part of Ipswich City Council’s Smart City Program.

Digital paint

Explore what Virtual Reality (VR) is, see how experts are creating art online and find out how the technology is used other than entertainment. Every booking will get a chance to play around with a digital painting tool, Tilt Brush. Caution: Using virtual reality may cause motion sickness in some people.

Kids workshops at Redbank Plaza

Workshops for children aged two to five are held at Redbank Plaza each Tuesday and Thursday. Children can enjoy fun, energetic, exciting sports based activity sessions. The sessions are designed to promote play-based learning. Places are limited, more info here.

Scale-free network: Micro Draw Workshops

See the world in a whole new way! Ipswich Art Gallery will be home to Scale Free Network’s exciting art-science laboratory. Microscope drawing workshops combine a lesson in science, art and mathematics inspired by the microscopic world.

Using the microscopes supplied, students look at slides and live samples from different areas of scientific research such as microbiology, geology, water ecology, parasitology and botany as well as their own special objects. They then create works of art. This is for students in Years 3-10. Bookings are usually made by teachers and are essential.

Social cooking at Gailes Community House
