Ipswich Unearthed – The Launch

Join this musical journey of discovery to unearth young emerging musical talent destined to become Australia’s next pop sensation, country rock legend or acoustic singer-songwriter. Artists will include:

Sam Krezwina, a member of our Protege Master Classes, and recipient of BIGSOUND’s delegate pass to attend not only the festival, but the networking and workshops, is performing for the first time at this intimate local venue. With his alternative instruments, he will be displaying a performance that will leave you amazed.

Laura Luscombe is a singer/songwriter with a soulful voice and an acoustic pop sound with lot of experience for her young age. She placed in third place at the National Regional Busking Championships in 2016 and has been performing and growing ever since. Her major musical influences are Lorde and Birdy.

Tee Shiree is one part of the country-duo Shotgun Shae, but she is performing solo for our Launch of Ipswich Unearthed. Tee Shiree, real name Tiarna, is a 19-year-old singer/songwriter. She has a strong repertoire of local and Brisbane performances, including Brisbane’s Ekka, where she performs her edgy country and blues sound.

Thursday James is a local singer/songwriter and DIY Bedroom Producer who creates her own sounds, will bring her creative and eclectic vibe to our Ipswich Unearthed Stage. As a participant in the I Heart Songwriting club, her songwriting skills will have you agreeing, while her pop-synth beats will leave you moving along.

Peak Organics Market

Peak Organics is a small organic farm situated in rural Queensland. Currently they sell direct to the public from their farm gate.

WHEN: 9am – 2pm

WHERE: Ivory’s Rock Conferences and Event, 310 Mount Flinders Road, Peak Crossing.

COST: Free

parkrun

parkrun organise free, weekly, 5km timed runs around the world. They are open to everyone, free, and are safe and easy to take part in. All ages and abilities can go along and run the 5km course. Please register before your first run. Bring a printed copy of your barcode so you can get your time. You are also welcome to grab a coffee in a local cafe with the parkrunners afterwards.

19th & 20th Century Works

View some of the finest pieces from the Ipswich Art Gallery’s collection of 19th and early 20th century fine art and folk art, as well as contemporary works reflecting Ipswich’s heritage.

Underworld

Descend into Sydney’s seedy underworld in a new photographic exhibition revealing the dark side of the Roaring Twenties.

Explore more than 130 candid and compelling mugshots taken by New South Wales Police between 1920 and 1930. Known as the ‘Specials’, they are unlike any found elsewhere in the world.

Immerse yourself in all things Underworld with the stunning accompanying book and an exciting line-up of talks and tours.
