Ipswich City Council’s community pulse check survey is on again and we want to hear from you.
CEO David Farmer said it was ideal timing to get more feedback from ratepayers and residents about council efforts and services provided for the community.
“A lot has changed over the last 12 months and we’re keen to know what you think,” Mr Farmer said.
A year in the hands of Interim Administrator Greg Chemello and the Interim Management Committee – after the dismissal of councillors in August 2018 – and the arrival of Mr Farmer in February 2019 and significant changes to council’s executive leadership team.
“During November 2018, residents of Ipswich were invited to speak up and say how they really felt about Ipswich City Council – particularly in relation to trust and confidence,” Mr Farmer said.
“One year on and council would like to revisit these questions and check in with the community.”
About 2400 people responded to the pulse check survey last year.
Respondents were generally satisfied with core delivery of services – rates, rubbish and roads – with three in four saying services provided by council were fair, satisfactory or very satisfactory.
Council is again seeking community feedback in the 2019 Community Pulse Check survey, which runs from 22 October to 14 November.
“Please take a few minutes to complete this survey,” Mr Farmer said.
“When answering the survey questions please think about the period of time after the dismissal of the councillors when council has been in administration, specifically the last 12 months.
“We have contracted Ipsos Social Research Institute to assist us with surveying and to collate and report on survey results.
“Council will report back to the community in December. What we learn will provide council with further information about ways to move forward.”
Mr Farmer said it was important for council to take time to understand and measure community sentiment, and measure progress through delivery of the 18-point business transformation plans.
It would also help in the build-up to the March 2020 local government elections and the return to elected representatives.
“We want to know it all – what you really think and feel about council,” he said.
