Ipswich is set to bake in a heatwave this week, with temperatures soaring to 37 degrees Celsius.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Lauren Pattie said temperatures would ease slightly on the weekend.
“It’s going to feel hot and sticky for most of the week,” Ms Pattie said.
“Heatwave conditions will remain for the week, with highs of 36 to 37 degrees Celsius until Friday.”
Ms Pattie said some showers and storms will provide a slight reprieve early in the week.
“There’s the best chance of showers and storms early in the week, but they will be isolated, so we’ll see less rain than we saw in the last seven days,” she said.
Around 115mm of rain fell across Ipswich in the past week.
