Want to have your say on recreational cycling and walking facilities and activities in Ipswich? Now is your chance, with a community survey open now.
The survey is the first step in council’s development of a Recreational Cycling and Walking Action Plan which will help guide the city’s future delivery of recreational cycling, walking facilities and activities.
Feedback gathered during the survey will be used to benchmark council’s progress on improving recreational cycling and walking opportunities across the region.
The survey on council’s community engagement platform, Shape Your Ipswich, is interactive and asks community members to pin point on a map where they would like to see changes made to their area and allows them to make comments and provide specific feedback.
Community, Culture, Arts and Sport Committee Chairperson Cr Andrew Fechner said council wants as many residents as possible to complete the survey.
“The survey will help council better understand the gaps residents see in our city’s recreational cycling and walking facilities and activities,” Cr Fechner said.
“It will also highlight how we can make recreational cycling and walking more attractive, convenient and enjoyable.
“As our city grows, it’s important that our community infrastructure keeps pace to meet community needs, which is why we want to hear from residents about what is needed now and into the future.
“It’s an opportunity for the community to suggest new ideas and concepts for our cycling and walking paths, things we might not have thought of otherwise.”
This Recreational Cycling and Walking survey is open at Shape Your Ipswich from now until 5 April 2021.
