If you visited the Crossroads Hotel in NSW, self-isolate immediately

Queenslanders who recently visited the Crossroads Hotel in Casula in New South Wales have been told to immediately self-isolate and arrange a COVID-19 test as soon as possible.

Thirteen cases of coronavirus have been linked to the hotel in recent days, prompting growing concern from authorities.

Speaking during the State Government’s daily COVID-19 update on Monday, Deputy Premier and Minister for Health and Ambulance Services Steven Miles said it was important people who visited the hotel between the 3rd and the 10th of July get tested as soon as possible.

“Our greatest concern now relates to a pub just off the Hume Highway in New South Wales in a town called Casula, the Crossroads Hotel,” he said.

“I’m told it’s a popular stopping point for people travelling the highway, especially truckies.

“Late yesterday afternoon after receiving this information, the Department of Transport and Main Roads alerted truck driving networks that anyone who has been to the Crossroads Hotel between the 3rd and the 10th of July should go and get tested.

“Police are now asking anyone arriving at the borders whether they have been to the Crossroads Hotel between the 3rd and the 10th of July.”

Mr Miles said a large number of people had been through the hotel on those dates, with both staff and patrons having tested positive for coronavirus.

“This is a very large contact tracing exercise, probably one of the largest undertaken so far here in Australia,” he said.

Anyone who visited hotel should self-isolate and seek a COVID-19 test immediately by contacting their GP or phoning 13 HEALTH.
