The first drive-thru Krispy Kreme store in Queensland opens today at Redbank Plains. Ipswich First caught up with store manager Jammy Cruz to find out what customers can expect.
The iconic Krispy Kreme ‘hot now’ neon sign will light up at Redbank Plains for the first time today with the opening of the chain’s first drive thru store in Queensland.
Doughnut lovers are expected to flock to the store, which is giving away 7,000 of the brand’s signature Original Glazed doughnuts until 24 December.
“It’s a perfect opportunity to mark the opening and give an early Christmas gift to the Ipswich-Springfield community,” store manager Jammy Cruz said.
“Myself and the team are really excited to be a part of the new Redbank Plains Convenience Centre.
“It’s the ideal location to open the state’s first ever drive thru Krispy Kreme, with thousands of passers-by every day.
“The fast and convenient drive thru option means that customers can swing by the Redbank Plains store and get their hands on our full range, from delicious doughnuts, seasonal specials, barista crafted coffee, shakes and bagels from the comfort of their car.
“The new convenience centre will be a really positive part of residents’ daily lives, whether they need coffee, sweet treats, groceries, fuel or a takeaway meal.”
The store has a dine in capacity of 60 and as well as doughnuts will carry seasonal specials, barista crafted coffee, shakes and bagels.
Other leading brands backing the convenience centre include Caltex, Zarraffas and American burger chain Carl’s Jr.
Ms Cruz said like the rest of Queensland, the Original Glazed doughnut was her favourite.
Krispy Kreme Redbank Plains is at 588 Redbank Plains Road, Redbank Plains.

For a more traditional take on the jam doughnut this yeast-raised doughnut shell is packed with a strawberry flavoured filling and coated with a light dusting of powdered sugar.
