Nicholas St update: Concreting for level 7 of new admin building completed

Concreting of the floor on level seven of the new council administration building was completed last week as the Nicholas St redevelopment continues.

Formwork for the first concrete pour on level eight is also underway.

The focus for crews this week has been on installing precast concrete columns between level eight and level nine.

Internal works are also underway, with services and wall framing being installed up to level three and sprinkler pipes installed up to level four.

Garden beds have been installed.

On the ground floor, work has started on the installation of the new staircase which will link the ground floor with the level one public spaces.

Inside the new library, work is continuing on the ceiling and floor finishes. Electrical contractors are finishing the lighting.

Crews working on the civic plaza have completed the construction of the stage roofing and continue to install exterior panelling on the second of two shade pavilions.

Garden beds are taking shape with soil now being delivered and prepared for the installation of plants and trees.

Doors were installed in some of the plaza’s lifts in the past week.

There are about 265 workers currently onsite across the development.

The deck in the civic plaza takes shape.
