Queensland has one new case of COVID-19 recorded overnight with that person being a close contact of an already confirmed positive case to the Correctional Services Training Centre cluster.
Health Minister Stephen Miles said the person was already in quarantine and have only been in the community for two days while infectious.
“At this point in a rapid response to a cluster, this is really the best we can hope for,” Minister Miles said.
“Very small numbers of people already identified as close contacts already in quarantine and therefore of relatively low risk of continued spread.
“We have 27 active cases and in the last 24 hour period testing has settled back into a more normal with 6865 tests, the result of that means turn-around time have returned to a more normal level 25 hours for results.”
There are many COVID testing locations in the West Moreton region, with some requiring a referral from your GP. See the full list here: https://www.westmoreton.health.qld.gov.au/coronavirus
Queensland Health authorities are urging anyone who displays even the mildest symptoms to get tested.
Symptoms of COVID-19 can include a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, fatigue or loss of taste or smell.
