Redbank Plains Road Bridge repairs continuing

Update Saturday 6 March 2pm:

Both Aberdare Street bridges on the Cunningham Highway have now reopened to two lanes of traffic.

The Redbank Plains Road Bridge remains closed to traffic.

Earlier:

The Department of Main Roads is continuing repairs on Redbank Plains Road Bridge over the Cunningham Highway near Blackstone.

The bridge has been closed after a truck struck the bridge.

For local motorists who plan to use Redbank Plains Road Bridge over the weekend, diversions are via the off-ramp and on-ramp at the interchange.

Motorists can also expect delays on the Cunningham Highway which overpasses Aberdare Street due to lane closures.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads has reduced traffic loads across the Cunningham Highway overpass as a safety precaution until further investigations are completed.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads is working to reopen Redbank Plains Road Bridge as soon as possible.

Roads to avoid:

  • Redbank Plains Road Bridge over the Cunningham Highway (currently closed)
  • Cunningham Highway Bridge which overpasses Aberdare Street (lanes closed, expect delays during peak traffic hours).

  1. I’ve not seen any actual work being done on it yet. Very frustrating. I saw something yesterday and then realised it was just them putting more barricades up…

  2. How long is this bridge going to take to get fixed as it’s frustrating for us that live at Greenwood Village that have to detour all the way to Dinmore to come all the way back to Redbank.. What use to be a 5 minute drive home from work at Fliders view, is now a 15-20 minute drive due to the bridge closure…

  3. Redbank plains rd overpass is still closed over 3 months later with no access through for cyclists and is extremely annoying
