Upgrade on the way for Woodend street

Road surface improvements and sewerage rehabilitation works are about to start at Roseberry Parade at Woodend.

Roseberry Parade, Woodend will be closed with detours while the works are carried out.

The works include pavement reconstruction, sewerage upgrades and new line markings.

The work is expected to start in late June 2021 and take about three weeks to complete.

Division 3 Councillor Marnie Doyle said the road resurfacing will help improve safety for road users.

“These works are part of council’s ongoing maintenance and upgrade program across Ipswich,” Cr Doyle said.

“Roseberry Parade is a busy road that connects Woodend and Coalfalls to central Ipswich and these works will help improve safety for all road users.

“I’m pleased council has been able to schedule the majority of works to occur during the school winter holidays to minimise the impact on morning and afternoon school traffic.

“However, there will be disruptions to road users and we thank everyone for their patience.”

Division 3 Councillor Andrew Fechner said upgrades to the sewerage system will benefit the local community.

“Sewage system upgrades may not sound exciting, but these upgrades help ensure local residents continue to receive these essential services,” Cr Fechner said.

“We thank residents and road users for their patience as these important works are undertaken.”
