Nothing to do mid-week in Ipswich? Think again. We’ve had a look and found a few things to keep you occupied until the weekend rolls around.
1. ELVIS ON THE BIG SCREEN

The King returns for a special screening of the classic concert film That’s The Way It Is. Includes a performance by an Elvis tribute singer and free tea, coffee and biscuits.

When: Wednesday August 16, 1.30pm for a 2pm start

2. RAFF DE

A solo show drawing on classic cuts from Creedance, The Eagles and Crowded House alongside modern masters Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars and Michael Buble.

3. EKKA STEAK SPECIAL

Sink your teeth into a Bundaberg Rum-infused dry aged sirloin on the bone topped with mushroom sauce and a fried egg. There’s even chunky chips and watercress, so you can say you’ve had your greens.

4. TODDLER TIME

Part of the First 5 Forever program, Toddler Time hits the road to bring stories, songs, rhymes and movement to children aged 18 months to three years.

5. GIRLS NIGHT OUT

Live music and drink specials lead ladies night at one of Ipswich’s newest hotels.

6. GARDENING CIRCLE

Be among the first to check out the library’s latest gardening titles. Green thumbs will pick up some fresh gardening ideas at this session full of tips and tricks.

7. RED CHERRIES

8. PLAYING WITH PIXELS

Learn how to use the features of your iPhone camera with photographer Nicole Bradbery and transform your images from ordinary to extraordinary. For adults aged 18 and over.

9. WILD RANGERS

Learn about Australian native animals in this live show and stick around to meet some of the stars as part of National Science Week celebrations.

Where: The Workshops Rail Museum, North Street, North Ipswich

Cost: Free with museum entry ($14.50 for adults)

10. FITNESS IN THE PARK

Free fitness fun continues with these mid-week sessions:

  • Wednesday 6.30am: High intensity interval training at Jack Barkley Park, North Booval.
  • Wednesday 9.30am: Low impact fitness at ANZAC Park, Rosewood.
  • Thursday 6.30am: Boot camp at Browns Park, North Ipswich.
  • Thursday 9.30am: Zumba at Stallard Park, Yamanto.
11. WORKS FROM THE COLLECTION

Explore items from the Ipswich Art Gallery Collection including heritage house portraits by artists Annie Hogan, Madeleine Kelly, Mel Robson and Barbara Heath.
