A Spook-Tacular time for all this Hallow’s Eve

Lock your doors and clear the roads! There are witches and goblins with hairy toads heading to the Nicholas Street Precinct in Ipswich Central for two Spook-Tacular nights of free music and entertainment.

Ipswich Central Redevelopment Committee Chairperson and Division 3 Councillor Marnie Doyle said it was that time of year again when the kooky get spooky as Ipswich marks Halloween.

“Over two nights, Friday 27 and Saturday 28 October from 5pm to 8pm, join in free Halloween fun of monstrous proportions,” Cr Doyle said.

“Activities include the best dressed competition, a mad scientist lab, door knockers and a creepy wall that’s sure to have your hair standing on end.

“This year has some fa-boo-lous disco entertainment with wicked DJs and roaming ghouls there to ensure everyone has a frightfully good time.

“On Saturday night only, Spook-Tacular will combine with a range of classic and muscle cars for Park and Pose.”

Division 3 Councillor Andrew Fechner said Halloween is a great opportunity for the community to gather for a free, friendly and safe council-run event.

“As cost-of-living pressures rise, council is continuing to provide opportunities for the community to connect and enjoy free, inclusive family events,” Cr Fechner said.

“It wouldn’t be Halloween without the odd troll or two so keep an eye out for Poppy and Branch as they mingle.

“Spook-Tacular is free to everyone and if you or the little monsters get hungry, there are devilish bites and Halloween specials to sink your fangs into throughout the evening.”

Some of the local food stores in the Nicholas Street precinct are offering the following just for the Halloween weekend.

* Stellarossa – Halloween hype at Stellarossa. Buy any size coffee and get the second one for $3.

* Sushi Hyo – Bento into Halloween! Buy any Bento Lunch Special and receive a free can of soft drink.

* Gelatissimo – No trick, just treats! Gelatissimo is offering free toppings on 27 and 28 October.

Residents are encouraged to come early, parking is available and free after 5pm at the Nicholas Street Precinct Car Park.

Halloween Spook-Tacular is at Tulmur Place in the Nicholas Street Precinct on 27 and 28 October from 5pm to 8pm.

Park and Pose is on Saturday 28 October in the Nicholas Street Precinct, corner of Nicholas Street and Brisbane Street from 5pm to 8pm.
