A clearer picture of the makeup of Ipswich City Council following the 2020 Local Government Elections is emerging with the latest figures from the Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ).
About two-thirds of votes have now been counted with the ECQ posting its latest update at 12.30pm on Wednesday, 1 April.
In Division 1, former councillor Sheila Ireland looks set to be elected as well as Jacob Madsen.
In Division 2, the team of former councillor Paul Tully and Nicole Jonic will likely be elected.
Local lawyer Marnie Doyle is a clear front runner in Division 3, with the second representative unlikely to be declared until the poll is finalised next week.
Andrew Fechner was narrowly ahead of Jim Dodrill and Toni Gibbs on Wednesday.
In Division 4, Kate Kunzelmann also enjoyed a significant advantage over rivals, although five others were battling for the second spot.
Thousands of pre-poll and postal votes remain to be counted and the election outcome could yet be altered in three of the four divisions.
Teresa Harding is the mayor-elect with main rival David Martin conceding defeat on Sunday.
