Following a phenomenal 10th Anniversary sell-out event earlier this year, Australia’s leading country and roots music festival, CMC Rocks Qld today reveals dates for its 2018 celebrations.

The biggest annual event on the Australian country music calendar will return to Willowbank, Ipswich from Thursday 15 – Sunday 18 March, with an expanded program set to deliver a jam-packed additional day of festivities exclusively for campers.

Due to overwhelming demand, event organisers have extended the Thursday campers program to include live music at the Jack Daniel’s White Rabbit Saloon from 1pm right through to 2am the next morning. On Friday 16 March, performers will kick off on the festival Main Stage at 11:45am, providing more live music action than ever before!

This year’s unforgettable 10th birthday event showcased an array of dazzling on-stage moments, from Little Big Town’s spectacular CMC Rocks debut to Kip Moore’s anticipated return to the festival stage and Charles Esten’s epic renditions of solo tunes and Nashville favourites, wrapping up with a stunning greatest hits set from global superstars the Dixie Chicks, complete with exploding confetti cannons.

Moments of pure magic ensued over the course of the weekend, as one of Morgan Evans’ long-time fans joined the singer on-stage during his set to propose to his partner, while Channel 7’s Larry Emdur dropped into Sweetheart’s Saloon Speed Dating to lend a hand to MC Buddy Goode.

2017 saw CMC Rocks once again create history, with the festival completely selling out for the second year running. Crowds of more than 15,000 music lovers, coming from as far as North America, Sweden, Singapore, Germany, Austria and New Zealand, descended on Willowbank over the course of the three-day event, injecting more than $6.1 million into the local Ipswich economy.

The southern hemisphere’s most significant country and roots event, CMC Rocks has over the years hosted world-class sets from international music icons like Tim McGraw, Toby Keith and Alan Jackson to Lady Antebellum, Faith Hill, Taylor Swift, Dixie Chicks and Little Big Town. Complemented each year by an array of Australia’s most prolific stars and exciting up-and-comers, including Lee Kernaghan, Troy Cassar-Daley, Kasey Chambers, Morgan Evans, Caitlyn Shadbolt and more, CMC Rocks never fails to deliver the very best of country music to local music fans.

The Queensland Government is proud to support CMC Rocks QLD through Tourism and Events Queensland as part of the It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar, showcasing Australia’s best live events in Australia’s best destinations.

2018 is sure to pack a punch for CMC Rocks festivalgoers, showcasing the best that country and roots music has to offer, in a unique second-to-none festival setting.
