Fly with drones at Springfield Central Library

A FREE Flying with Drones event at Springfield Central Library on Saturday, 27 October will arm participants with everything they need to know about drones.

It will go from 10am to noon and is for people aged 13 and above.

Brisbane-based aerospace organisation, Ace Aviation Pty Ltd will present the event as part of Ipswich Libraries’ In Touch with Tech series.

They will guide participants through all aspects of drone technology including flying and handling safety, drone electronics as well as rules and regulations and industry applications.

There will also be a hands on session and opportunities for participants to ask questions.

Ipswich Libraries manager Sylvia Swalling said the event was a good opportunity for people to explore the world of drones.

“The Flying with Drones event was very popular in Ipswich in April and we expect the same at Springfield,” she said.

“We are committed to enhancing the community’s knowledge of high tech products and services and drones are becoming a huge part of many industries.

“It is important that people wanting to enter those industries, or even just anyone wanting to use drones for fun, understand both the technology and rules and laws surrounding their use.

“We are grateful to Ace Aviation for taking the time to come out to Springfield to share their knowledge and experience with our residents.

“We urge people to book in as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”

Bookings can be made via ipswichlibraries.com.au or by phoning 3810 6815.

Springfield Central Library is on the corner of Main Street and Sirius Drive, Orion Springfield Central.
