From stunning landscapes to colourful creatures, Ipswich’s diverse and beautiful natural environment has been celebrated in a free calendar.
The 2023 calendar will be available at Ipswich libraries branches as well as Queens Park Environmental Education Centre and Ipswich Visitor Information Centre, while stocks last.
Environment and Sustainability Committee Chairperson Councillor Russell Milligan said the calendar celebrated the city’s actions towards being a clean, green and sustainable city.
“As our community grows, Ipswich City Council has many initiatives being delivered each year to ensure our city is natural and sustainable now, and for future generations,” Cr Milligan said.
“From Enviroplan-funded conservation to waterway health, urban greening and resource recovery, this calendar highlights the many actions being taken in collaboration with the community.”
When 2023 is finished the calendar can be recycled in a household yellow-lid bin or torn up for a household green-lid FOGO bin.
“It is amazing to see our local landscapes, plants and animals through the lens of talented photographers, many of whom also live in Ipswich,” Cr Milligan said.
“The calendar has a lot of ideas and inspiration for how residents can also have an active role in creating a more green and sustainable city.”
