Gumleaf Park shining brighter than ever with lighting and play equipment upgrade

Ipswich City Council has completed works at Gumleaf Park at Redbank Plains, with the park now ready for residents to come and enjoy.

The works completed include a two metre wide footpath, new timber bollards, park furniture, landscaping, and additional lighting added to an existing shelter.

Some existing playground equipment was also removed and replaced adding to the parks new look and feel.

Division 1 Councillor Sheila Ireland said the park is not only safer but also lighter and brighter than ever.

“The park not only looks great, but the new shelter lighting should address some of the community safety concerns and make the park safer and more enjoyable for our community,” Cr Sheila Ireland said.

“The new timber bollards and landscaping also adds to the parks new and bright atmosphere.

“We acknowledge that the community wish to see more work done on this park and this is the first step. 

“We will continue to advocate for additional work to be done in the future.”

Division 1 Councillor Jacob Madsen said the revamped park will draw in many more locals to this already popular park.

“I welcome residents to come and see the new park and bring their children to try out the upgraded play equipment and furniture,” Cr Madsen said.

“I can’t wait to see families and friends enjoying the park and all it has to offer our community.”

 The completed works were delivered on time by council and took approximately 5 months to complete.
