Ipswich creates Supercars inspired food for SuperSprint weekend

The excitement and action around the Ipswich SuperSprint is not just on track this weekend.

Several of the region’s cafes and restaurants have given their menu a Supercars twist for the big event.

Our friends at Discover Ipswich supplied this look at some of the fun food on offer.

Ungermann Brothers Ice-cream Parlour

Ice-cream craft runs in the blood of Ipswich brothers Ben and Danny Ungermann who head up the region’s tastiest Dutch-themed ice-cream parlour.

For a limited time only, they’re offering the V8 SuperSprint Grease Car Range inspired by the grit and grind of the Queensland Raceway track.

Grab a scoop or two of their black ice-cream, available in the three surprise flavours of black sesame seed, liquorice and smoked vanilla.

Indian Mehfil

Sprint over to Indian Mehfil for dinner and order the V8 Supercars Lamb Shank. This is the perfect spot for a post-SuperSprint debrief session to look back on the day.

Pumpyard Bar and Brewery

Slam the breaks, did you say hot wings and martinis? Pumpyard Bar and Brewery is be serving up Flaming Hot Wings, which you can wash down with their exclusive Burnout Martini.

The Retro Diner

Shift the gears back a notch and travel back in time at The Retro Diner. Change up the classic burger and shake combo with the SuperSprint exclusive Sprinter High Tea, which will excite and delight the entire family.

Two Butchers

The crew at Two Butchers at Orion Springfield Central have got your meat needs sorted. Serving farm fresh, grass fed premium meat from steaks to sausages and everything in between, you’ll be spoilt for choice this race weekend. Be sure to look out for their V8 car shaped pastry…because there’s not enough cars in one weekend to drool over already!

La Prima Pizzeria

Race into lunch at La Prima Pizzeria in Springfield and enjoy their Supersprint special, The V8 Super Deal. They’ll plate up any pizza of your choice with a can of drink for just $15. We recommended turning up the heat with the Inferno pizza, stacked with mozzarella, chicken, chilli flakes and chilli sauce – time to get those engines revving!
