Josh Kehoe Quartet

Joshua Kehoe is a saxophonist, pianist and organist based in Brisbane. His passion for jazz music developed at an early age under the guidance of world-renowned educators and performers Ken Stubbs, John Morrison and John Hoffman. At age 10, he fell in love with the saxophone, followed by the love of piano and jazz organ a few years later. With diverse skills in musical practices, Josh has performed with a vast array of ensembles over the past seven years.

Shapeshifters: 3D Printing the Future

Showcasing works by seven Australian and one international maker, this exhibition explores how 3D printing has revolutionised the way we design and apply products in our everyday lives. Artist creations on display include jewellery, fashion and prosthetics, all created using 3D printing technology. A series of workshops will accompany the exhibition including hands-on opportunities for adults and children to design and print their own 3D objects.

First Friday Fun - Clay Mates

First Friday Fun is a monthly Ipswich Libraries program designed to feed the creativity, imagination and curiosity of primary school aged students. This month the focus is on Clay-mation: simple stop gap animation using clay and iPads to tell a story. Bookings recommended but drop-ins welcome. Suitable for ages 5-12 years.

The Naked Magicians

FOREIGN BODIES: NEW WORK BY CHRISTOPHER TROTTER

These new sculptures by Christopher Trotter are created from natural objects and discarded machinery. Drawn to the unique forms and weathered surfaces of these materials, Trotter’s creations appear to have lived a hard life performing the task for which they were invented. Since each creation is made by joining unrelated materials in an illogical yet seemingly plausible combination, we are left to ponder exactly what function they performed.

Wind Tubes

A Private Collection

Belonging to an astute private collector, this uniquely personal collection of Australian art was assembled over a 60 year period. Many of the pieces displayed have been acquired through the Ipswich Art Awards over the past 15 years and are shown in conjunction with this year’s Ipswich Festival.
