Learn how to barbecue like a pro with Matt Golinski

For us Aussies, barbecuing is more than just a cooking method – it’s a long running national tradition.  Whether it is Christmas Day or just a lazy Sunday afternoon, there’s nothing better than firing up the barbie in the company of friends and family.

With Australia Day coming up, many of our local backyard chefs will be gearing up for a big day on the barbecue. While we all know the basics to a good grilling, why not take it up a notch this year?

That’s where Ipswich Libraries latest online workshop comes in.

In the lead up to Australia Day, Queensland’s very own Matt Golinski will be sharing his top tips in an online barbecuing workshop.

From the comfort of your own home, you can learn from one of Australia’s best chefs to make your next barbecue top notch.

Learn all the tricks of the trade including:

  • what cuts of meat are best for barbecuing
  • how to prepare meat
  • sauces and spice rubs for the meat
  • cooking on the barbeque including how long and temperatures
  • best sides to go with your barbeque.

The free online workshop will take place on Thursday, 21 January from 7pm to 8pm via Zoom.

Bookings are essential, so if you’re looking to impress your family and friends at the annual Australia Day backyard barbecue be sure to head over to the Ipswich Libraries website to register.

Registrations close Thursday, 21 January at 9am.
