Help keep Springfield Lakes beautiful by joining in the Clean Up Australia Day event.

Children and families welcome. You can bring a canoe or kayak. Wear protective shoes, sun smart clothes and a hat.

BYO water bottle. Bags, gloves and sunscreen will be provided.

There are two sites – Spring Lake Parklands or Regatta and Discovery Lakes. Online registration essential for catering and insurance purposes. Register here:

Clean up the Brassall Bikeway

Friends of Brisbane Valley Rail Trail and Bushwalking Queensland are managing their first ever Clean Up Australia Day event. The group meets at John Murphy Park (62 Diamantina Blvd, Brassall) and will be walking along the trail and bikeway, collecting any rubbish they see. /wear enclosed footwear, a hat, sunscreen, sun shirt, insect repellent and a bottle of water.

Steam train Sunday

All aboard! Travel through Brisbane on a historic steam train and relive the splendour of a bygone era. Pass through city stations and enjoy river crossings on your journey aboard vintage carriages.

WHEN: Departs 10.15am and 11.40am (times subject to change)

WHERE: Departs and returns to Roma Street station in Brisbane

Disney sing-a-long festival

Experience your favourite Disney films on the big screen as part of this special sing-a-long festival. Tickets include free kids’ craft and prizes for best dressed.

Disney Classics Film Festival

The Disney Classics Film Festival brings four family favourites back to the big screen. Today it’s Bambi.

Community meet and greet at Deebing Heights

A community meet and greet will take place at Sovereign Park. The relaxed event is a chance for Deebing Heights residents to meet their neighbours. A face painter will be on hand for the children. Bring a chair and a plate.

Ipswich Showplace Markets

The Ipswich Showplace Markets are held every Sunday at the Ipswich Showgrounds. They are open to the public between 6am and 11:30am.

Stallholders currently sell a range of items, both new and second hand. They range from toys, clothes, books, plants, household items, DVDs and CDs, art, craft, tools, hardware, services, fruit and vegetables, ice-cream, hot food, coffee and more.
