Trees for Mum Day

Celebrate your wonderful mum and mother nature by planting a native tree in her honour.

Enjoy a coffee and cake while the kids check out the playground or bring a picnic rug and relax under a shady tree. Information on native plants and home gardening will also be available on the day and you can collect your free plants from the Council mobile nursery on site.

Mums will receive a small gift to celebrate Mother’s Day.
What to bring: Hat, closed in shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, drinking water.

A Private Collection

Belonging to an astute private collector, this uniquely personal collection of Australian art was assembled over a 60 year period. The collection gathers together over 130 works and has a particular focus on Queensland artists. Artist featured include William Bustard, Robert Campbell, Julian Ashton, Lionel Lindsay and Charles Lancaster.

Ipswich Showplace Markets

The Ipswich Showplace Markets are held every Sunday at the Ipswich Showgrounds. They are open to the public between 6am and 11:30am.

Stallholders currently sell a range of items, both new and second hand. They range from toys, clothes, books, plants, household items, DVDs and CDs, art, craft, tools, hardware, services, fruit and vegetables, ice-cream, hot food, coffee and more.

Artists featured are Gary Abkin, Tim Acutt, Chenaya Bancroft-Davis, Annie Clarke, Donna Davis, Charmaine Davis, Mieke den Otter, Colleen Gardener, Angela Geertsma, Sally Harrison, Lizzett Kim, Wayne McDonnell, Sharon McKenzie, Deb Mostert, Kate Roberts, Andrew Spark and Helen Vere. Many of the pieces displayed have been acquired through the Ipswich Art Awards over the past 15 years and are shown in conjunction with this year’s Ipswich Festival.
