A new medical centre, child care centre and cafe have been approved for Goodna.
The development is on 6,478 square meters of land at 41, 41A and 43 Queen Street, with three houses to be removed to make way for the new complex.
The child care centre will accommodate 112 spaces and include an 805 square metre outdoor undercover play area.
It will be built on the upper level of the split-level development.
The medical centre with supporting pharmacy and cafe with outdoor dining area will occupy the ground level.
More than 100 car parks will be created to cater for customers to the centre.
“The building is to be constructed of typical commercial materials including a combination of lightweight and rendered concrete cladding and sheet metal roofing in a contemporary architectural design,” the application notes.
“The proposal is consistent with existing community use and business/medical use development in Queen Street.
“The proposal offers two essential services onsite to cater for the demand of the surrounding catchment.
“It is considered that the development will positively contribute to the locality and will increase the range of services available to the Goodna Community.”
It is not the first medical centre approved for Goodna this year.
In January, Ipswich City Council approved an application for a 24-hour medical centre in Mill Street, Goodna.
That approval also allows for a cafe and professional office as part of the development.
