Nicholas St update: Admin building focus shifts to level one

The new Ipswich City Council administration building in the Nicholas St precinct in Ipswich Central continues to take shape with concreting for the ground floor now complete.

Crews continue to work on pouring concrete for level one.

Installation of services such as power and water in the building’s basement car park are ongoing.

The Nicholas St redevelopment site, including pipes for the new zero depth water play area.

The lift core continues to climb and is currently up to the second storey while scaffolding around the exterior of the building is growing higher by the day.

For crews working on the new library building, a key focus has been preparation ahead of the upcoming installation of façade and glazing.

The installation of services above the ceiling of the new library such as power, data, air-conditioning and water is also underway.

Work is progressing inside the new library.

The main focus in the Civic Plaza for the past week has been the ongoing installation of pipework for the future water play area.

Crews have also turned their attention to the installation of lifts and stairwells to link the car park with the civic spaces.

About 140 workers are currently on site across the redevelopment.

The focus for crews on the administration building has shifted to level one.
