Nicholas St update: Concrete poured for level 9 of new building

​The milestones continue for the Nicholas St redevelopment with the final concrete pour for level nine of the new council administration building taking place this week.

On the building’s exterior, installation of the outer covering of the building – known as the curtain wall – is forging ahead.

Inside, crews have started installing framing for the walls and ceiling on level six.

The interior of the new Ipswich Central Library is being painted with the concrete slab being prepared ahead of the installation of floor coverings.

In the civic plaza space, the exterior finishes on the second of two shade pavilions and the new stage are now finished ahead of painting.

Paving is ongoing, as are works on the deck tenancy.

The Bradfield Bridge walkway extension has now been completed.

There are about 250 workers across the site at present.

  1. How many levels will there be ? Its probably been published before but I didn’t think it was going to be 9 levels
