Nicholas St update: Concrete poured for level four of new admin building

The Nicholas St redevelopment continues to power ahead with about 240 workers now onsite.

Crews working on the new council administration building have poured the concrete to form the floors on level four, with scaffolding now up to level five.

On the ground floor, work has started on installing brackets for the glazing to be installed with frames for the windows planned for installation this week.

Work continues on the new library.

The precast columns between levels five and six will be installed shortly.

Pipes for the sprinkler system are about to be installed on level one.

In the civic plaza space, work on two shade pavilions is well underway with exterior finishes being installed on one pavilion and the steel framework for another now built.

Paving installation is continuing from outside the library and administration building and into the plaza.

Crews are also continuing work on the future bar/tenancy located on the northern edge of the plaza.

The end is in sight for the external fascia of the new library which is nearly complete.

Inside, the installation of the ceiling sheeting and sanding of new sheeting is ongoing.
