Nicholas St update: Crews rapidly closing in on library completion

The end is in sight for crews working on the new main library in the Nicholas St redevelopment.

In recent weeks, internal construction has been completed.

Significant work has been completed to fit out the new facility, which is on schedule to open later this year.

For crews working on the new council administration building, the focus in recent weeks has been on erection of roof steel and installation of sheeting for the children’s library ceiling.

Glass has been installed on ground and level one, with framing to ceilings on level two.

In the civic plaza space, turf and plants have been installed.

Waterproofing of the plaza is complete, with cleaning and sealing of pavers ongoing.

About 185 workers are currently on site across the library, civic plaza and council administration building.
