Online resources help businesses navigate COVID-19 requirements

A raft of information has been made available online to help businesses navigate the latest COVID-19 restrictions.

The State Government has made the information available at www.business.qld.gov.au and www.covid19.qld.gov.au

Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding said it was a stressful time for local business owners as they sought to comply with the latest directives.

“Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, our local businesses have been through a lot as they’ve navigated changing restrictions and lockdowns,” Mayor Harding said.

“The latest restrictions requiring businesses to check the vaccination status of customers are important to keep our community safe but also add additional challenges for doing business.

“Understandably, local businesses have plenty of questions about the rules and I hope these online resources will help in providing clarity.”

Some of the specific resources available are listed below including information on the updated face mask mandates.

Information and support for businesses, including required signage and information on mental health support can be found at:

A free, online COVID Safe Business course developed by TAFE Queensland in consultation with Queensland health to help businesses implement the new measures and manage entry of customers and visitors, including checking their vaccination status is also available. Details can be found at:

Face mask requirements

From 5am today, Thursday 23 December 2021, the Chief Health Officer has introduced additional mask mandates for Queensland.

Masks must now be worn by hospitality staff and will be required in cinemas and theatres.  These new mask requirements are in addition to the current mask requirements for indoor retail, hospitals and aged care, on public transport, in ride share vehicles and in airports and planes.
