Queensland Election: Where to vote early in Ipswich

Early voting centres have this week opened across Ipswich, ahead of the Queensland general election on Saturday, 31 October.

The Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ) is encouraging voters to get in early after they expanded the number and hours of operation of early voting centres across the state.

“Nearly half of all electors chose early voting in the March local government elections,” Electoral Commissioner Pat Vidgen said.

“This helped deliver fewer and shorter queues, electors averaging around three minutes in a polling booth according to an elector survey, lower voting number on election day, and no spike in COVID-19 infections following the election period.”

As at 3.30pm on Wednesday, 21 October almost 360,000 votes had already been cast across the state.
