Tender awarded for Leichhardt and Bundamba pools

AUSTRALIAN Crawl Goodna Pty Ltd has been awarded the tender to manage and operate Ipswich City Council owned Georgie Conway Leichhardt and Bundamba swim centres for a period of 10 years.

Council authorised the Chief Executive Officer to finalise contract negotiations.

The contract calls for the on-going successful operation of the swim centres that both council and the swimming community would expect from a well-managed aquatic facility.

Ipswich mayor and Works, Parks and Sport Committee chairperson Andrew Antoniolli said council advertised for tenders on 26 August 2017.

“Five submissions were lodged and were evaluated under the approved Tender Evaluation and Probity Plan,” Cr Antoniolli said.

“Council also engaged an independent probity advisor to assist with the evaluation.

“Following the evaluation report Australian Crawl Goodna Pty Ltd was successful.

“This company has a successful track record, not only in Ipswich at the Goodna Swim Centre and Orion Lagoon, but at other swim complexes in south east Queensland.”
