The Ipswich Civic Centre shows you don’t want to miss in 2020

From world class musical performances to international comedians, theatre and children’s entertainment, there’s something for everyone at the Ipswich Civic Centre in 2020.

Here’s some of the highlights for the first six months of the year:

Karen Knowles
8 February

Gold and Platinum award winner, Karen Knowles, is one of Australia’s favourite singers.

Lead singer with The Seekers in the early ‘90s, Karen started her career on Young Talent Time and became the highest selling Australian female recording artist for two consecutive years.

Karen’s best known hits include Why Won’t You ExplainYou are the ReasonBy RequestLa Vie en RoseAmazing Grace and Moonglow.

 

Les Divas
29 February

Presented by Sydney Drag Queen and the producers of Prada’s Priscillas, Les Divas is a 90-minute all-male revue featuring impersonations of some of the world’s greatest divas, including Cher, Barbara Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Tina Turner, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Diana Ross.

The show is headlined by Prada Clutch, one of Australia’s most in demand live-singing drag queens.

The Italian Tenors
Thursday 26 March

Evans Tonon, Sabino Gaita and Luca Sala are returning for their third Australian tour, following their sell out performances across the country in 2016.

The worldwide pop-opera phenomenon will once again combine their classical roots with Neapolitan songs and their own blend of Italian pop classics.

Ross Noble ‘Humournoid’
Friday 27 March

Ross Noble is on his way to Ipswich on the second leg of his 85-date worldwide tour.

Known as one of comedy’s best improvisers, Noble has been honing his craft for over two decades.

In his latest show, Humournoid, he poses the questionWhat happens when pure comedy takes human form?

Animal Farm
28 April

Animal Farm, one of the most enduring political commentaries returns in a multi-award winning, critically-acclaimed theatre production.

Created by shake & stir and directed by Michael Futcher, this performance has been described by critics as one of the year’s ‘must see physical theatre’ events.

The Gruffalo’s Child
27 May

Adapted from the award-winning picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffle, The Gruffalo’s Child has attracted critical acclaim for capturing the magic of the deep dark wood with physical theatre, music and puppetry.

The 21st Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow
Tuesday 5 May

A diverse line-up of the hottest acts direct from the Melbourne International Comedy Festival returns to Ipswich for one night only.

Featuring a cast of Australian stars, talented newcomers and special guest international performers, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow will deliver a night of stand-up, sketch and satire on its road trip across more than 80 cities and towns across Australia.

The Tap Pack
Tuesday 9 June

Direct from sold out houses and rave reviews in London, Berlin and Beijing, Australia’s newest and hottest tap dance sensation, The Tap Pack, is coming to Ipswich.

Created by Jesse Rasmussen, Jordan Pollard and Thomas J Egan, the talented dancers will have you tapping in your seat with their high energy entertainment and comedy.

The show takes you on a musical journey from Sammy Davis Junior and Sinatra’s classics right through to the latest hits from Beyonce and Ed Sheeran.
