White Rock-Spring Mountain from above

Ipswich first takes you on an aerial tour of White Rock-Spring Mountain Conservation Estate, as captured by @Bushies Untamed. No wonder Ipswich is fast becoming the bushwalking capital of queensland.

White Rock covers more than 2,500ha of bushland and is home to an amazing array of plants and animals. Just 20 minutes from the Ipswich CBD, the estate is perfect for hiking, bird-watching, horse riding (BYO horses), mountain biking and nature study.

For the bushwalker there’s everything from a leisurely 200m walk to the more challenging 19km round-trip trail. You’ll need to allow about three hours for the 6.5km round trip to see White Rock up close.

Entry to the estate is via the Paperbark Flats picnic area at the end of School Road in Redbank Plains. Amenities include toilets, picnic facilities and horse float parking. Don’t forget to pack a hat, sunscreen and plenty of drinking water.
